Confidence unpicked

 According to Wikipedia: confidence is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective. Self-confidence is having confidence in oneself. Arrogance or hubris in this comparison, is having unmerited confidence—believing something or someone is capable or correct when they are not. Overconfidence or presumptuousness is excessive belief, in someone or something, succeeding, without any regard for failure. Scientifically, a situation can only be judged after the aim has been achieved or not. Confidence can be a self-fulfilling prophecy as those without it may fail or not try because they lack it and those with it may succeed because they have it rather than because of an innate ability.

Healing energy

A strange thing happened to me recently.  I was talking with an accomplished therapist who is well connected and respected in "alternative therapy" circles.  I was staggered by her comment, "Clive you will be a great healer".  I suppose in my mind I envisaged Reiki or something like that and could not see in a million years how that would fit with my career as a writer, speaker and coach.  I asked her what she meant and she just commented on "my energy".

our calling

The phrase "our calling" is an interesting one.  It is used mainly in spiritual or professional contexts and particularly where these two overlap.  But is our calling wider than that?  Our life journey takes many twists and turns and the way we respond to seemingly insignificant circumstances can change the whole course of history, not just ours but the bigger picture too.
